APPOINTMENTS FOR CLIENTS AGES 5-12 ARE AVAILABLE ON SATURDAYS ONLY. WE DO NOT OFFER SERVICES FOR CHILDREN UNDER 5 YEARS OLD AT THIS TIME.

Minors

We’re happy to offer ear piercing for kids and teens, with a few important guidelines in place to keep things smooth and safe. For clients ages 5–12, ear lobe piercings are available by appointment only on Saturdays. Clients ages 13-17 can be pierced any day of the week. All minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. The adult present must have their valid photo ID as well as the minor’s birth certificate. If surnames on both documents don’t match, another form of legal documentation must be shown to prove your relationship to the minor.

We do not pierce children under the age of 5.

Sterilization

We take sterilization seriously. All tools and jewelry used during your piercing are thoroughly cleaned and sterilized in a medical-grade autoclave—the same equipment used in hospitals and dental offices. An autoclave uses high-pressure steam to completely eliminate bacteria, viruses, and other contaminants, ensuring every item is 100% sterile before it touches your skin. We follow strict OSHA guidelines to provide a safe, sanitary experience you can feel confident about.

  • We currently only offer Ear Piercing. You can pierce your ear lobes, helix (cartilage), flat, rook, tragus, conch, forward helix or daith!

  • GCT pierces clients 5 years old and older! Our tiny besties, ages 5-12, can get their ear lobes pierced on Saturdays. All clients aged 13"+ can make an appointment during all business hours. Minors must have a parent or legal guardian present with a valid ID and the minor’s birth certificate.

  • Yes! We currently pierce children 5 years old and up. Children ages 5-12 are welcome to make appointments on Saturdays.

  • Yes! Our Ear Piercing service fee of $70 includes a selection of basic jewelry for any piercing site. We offer other jewelry selections for an additional $15-45.

  • We pierce with a sterile hollow catheter needle—and here’s why. Needle piercing is safer, cleaner, and more precise than a piercing gun. It creates a cleaner hole with less trauma to the tissue, which means a smoother healing process and less risk of complications. Plus, our needles are single-use and fully sterile, so there’s no risk of cross-contamination.

  • We use ASTM F136 implant-grade titanium for all initial piercings, recommended by the Association of Professional Piercers. This metal minimizes the risk of piercing rejection, irritation, or allergic reaction. Titanium is one of the safest metals for new piercings—it’s hypoallergenic, nickel-free, and ideal for sensitive skin. Using titanium helps reduce the risk of irritation or allergic reaction and promotes healthy healing from the very start. Once your piercing is fully healed, you may switch to other metals or styles.

  • The $70 service price covers the piercing and basic jewelry. Different jewelry can be selected for an additional $15-45.

  • For safety and quality reasons, we do not allow clients to bring their own jewelry for initial piercings. All jewelry must be properly sterilized in a medical-grade autoclave and meet our standards for safe metals—and we can only guarantee that when it comes from our trusted suppliers. This ensures every piercing starts with high-quality, hypoallergenic jewelry that’s been fully sterilized and approved for use.

  • Yes, we highly recommend you book an appointment so that we can make sure to have a Stylist available for your visit and get all the proper information from you that we need.

  • A valid photo ID for yourself. If you are coming with a minor, you will also need to bring their birth certificate. If your name and ID do not match the minor’s birth certificate, you will need to bring a document to show legal guardianship.

GCT PIERCINGS

  • Clean your piercing once a day using a sterile isotonic saline for the entirety of the healing process. Do not twist or move your piercing while it is healing. Doing so will prolong the healing process. We do not recommend making your own solution at home.

  • Ear lobes: 6-8 weeks
Helix (cartilage), Flat, Rook, Tragus, Conch: 6-12 months
Forward helix and Daith: 4-9 months

  • It’s best to avoid swimming for at least 4 weeks after your piercing. Pools, lakes, oceans, and hot tubs can all introduce bacteria that may lead to infection or slow down the healing process. If you do end up in the water, make sure to rinse the area with clean saline solution right after and avoid submerging the piercing for extended periods. Keeping things clean and dry is the best way to ensure a smooth, happy heal!

  • Once you’ve reached the full healing time of your piercing site, you’re good to swap it out! Your piercer will give you an aftercare card stating the healing time of your piercing(s). Healing times can vary a bit from person to person depending on the site, so if you’re unsure if you can swap out the jewelry, we’re happy to take a look. When you’re ready for a new look, make sure to use high-quality, hypoallergenic jewelry—and if you’d rather not do it yourself, you can always book a jewelry change with us, and we’ll handle it for you, safely and stress-free!

  • If your jewelry falls out, try to gently reinsert it as soon as possible—clean hands and clean jewelry only! Piercings can start to close up quickly, especially if they’re still healing. If you’re unable to get the jewelry back in, don’t force it. Give us a call or stop by, and we’ll do our best to help you safely reinsert it or discuss next steps. The sooner you act, the better the chance of keeping your piercing open.

  • Some redness, tenderness, or light swelling is totally normal in the first few days—but if you notice increased pain, warmth, yellow or green discharge, or swelling that doesn’t improve, it may be a sign of infection. Don’t panic! Keep the area clean with sterile saline solution and avoid removing the jewelry, as this can trap the infection inside. If symptoms continue or worsen, reach out to us or consult your healthcare provider. We’re always here to help if you’re unsure what’s normal or need advice on next steps.

  • If you’re scheduled for surgery, an MRI, or other medical imaging, be sure to let your provider know you have a healing piercing. In many cases, you won’t need to remove it, especially since titanium jewelry is typically MRI-safe. If removal is required, we recommend replacing it with a clear, temporary retainer to help keep the piercing from closing during your procedure.

  • Yes, we do! Downsizing is an important step in the healing process. At least two months after the initial piercing was completed and swelling has decreased, we recommend switching to a shorter post for a better fit and more comfortable wear. Although not required for all piercing sites, downsizing in areas such as the forward helix, tragus, and helix will help prevent irritation, snagging, and shifting of the piercing as it continues to heal. If you’re ready to downsize, just book a piercing change appointment with us, and we’ll make sure everything fits just right.
